Our offer

GCK Mobility

Tailor-made transformation with à la carte retrofitting

GCK Mobility offers ‘turnkey’ or ‘tailor-made’ solutions, depending on the electrification project required. We are both manufacturers of our own range of carbon-free vehicles and a design office at the service of our customers. You can contact us if you have a vehicle that needs to be retrofitted, or if you want to buy a vehicle from our catalogue that has already been type-approved. Our team will support you at every stage of your project.

The benefits of retrofitting
Zero CO2 emissions
Rapid fleet transformation
Contribution to the circular economy / upcycling
Economically more attractive than a new vehicle

GCK Mobility offers 3 retrofit solutions
  • Electric-battery retrofit: a relevant solution for light vehicles and systems with no weight/space constraints
  • Electric – hydrogen retrofit: the comfort of electric power with twice the range and no loss of power, for heavy and special-purpose vehicles
  • Retrofit with a hydrogen combustion engine: for intensive use and operation in demanding environments
Electric-battery retrofit

This process consists of replacing a vehicle’s internal combustion engine with an electrical device powered by one or more batteries. The engine block – petrol or diesel – is removed, along with all the associated components (gearbox, fuel tanks, catalysts). In its place, a new electric powertrain is installed, coupled with a gearbox if necessary.

Electric-hydrogen retrofit

Hybrid electric-hydrogen retrofitting involves replacing a vehicle’s internal combustion engine with an electric motor powered by a battery, which in turn is powered by a hydrogen-powered fuel cell. The hydrogen provides the energy needed for greater range, while the medium-capacity battery combines power and performance. The capacity of the hydrogen tank determines the range of the whole vehicle.

Hydrogen combustion engine retrofit

Converting an engine does not require any major modifications. Hydrogen is gaseous at ambient temperature and pressure, so it is essentially a question of modifying the fuel supply circuit. Direct injection allows the distribution of hydrogen (a very expansive gas) to be finely metered to obtain a well-controlled mixture. A safe hydrogen tank must also be installed. After conversion, the vehicle no longer emits any CO₂, just a small amount of nitrogen oxide due to the combustion of the hydrogen.
