Our offer

GCK Mobility

Tailor-made transformation with custom retrofit

GCK Mobility offers turnkey or tailor-made solutions depending on the desired retrofit project. We are both manufacturers of our own range of decarbonized heavy vehicles and a design office serving our customers. You can contact us if you have a heavy vehicle to retrofit or if you want to purchase one from our catalog that is already approved. Our team will support you through every stage of your project.

The advantages of retrofit

Zero CO2 emissions
More economical than a new vehicle
Contributing to the circular economy
Fast fleet transformation

Our retrofit solutions
  • Electric retrofit – battery: a relevant solution for vehicles and systems without weight and space constraints.
  • Electric retrofit – hydrogen: the comfort of electric power without loss of power, offering flexibility and range for heavy and special-purpose vehicles.
  • Hydrogen combustion engine retrofit: a new solution currently being tested that represents a major innovation for the mobility of tomorrow.

Electrical retrofit – battery

This process involves replacing a vehicle’s combustion engine with an electric motor powered by one or more batteries. The gasoline or diesel engine is removed, along with all related components (transmission, fuel tanks, catalytic converters). In its place, a new electric powertrain is installed, coupled with a transmission if necessary.

Electric retrofit – hydrogen

The hybrid electric-hydrogen retrofit involves replacing a vehicle’s combustion engine with an electric motor powered by a battery, which is itself powered by a hydrogen fuel cell. Hydrogen provides the energy needed for greater range, while the medium-capacity battery combines power and performance. The capacity of the hydrogen tank determines the range of the vehicle.

Hydrogen combustion engine retrofit

A new retrofit solution currently being tested

Converting an engine does not require major modifications. Since dihydrogen is gaseous at ambient temperature and pressure, the main change involves modifying the fuel supply system. Direct injection allows for precise metering of the hydrogen (a highly expansive gas) to obtain a well-controlled mixture. A secure hydrogen tank must also be installed. After conversion, the vehicle no longer emits CO₂, only a small amount of nitrogen oxide due to the combustion of hydrogen.

As this technology is still in the development stage, GCK and Keolis have signed a partnership agreement to test a hydrogen combustion engine coach.
